Is Jesus just a myth made up by Christians? Or perhaps we was created by Rome to control people? Rather, He was a real, historical person that verifiably rose from the dead.
Jesus is mentioned by the following well known writers for Jesus’ time, none of which were Christians:
- Tacitus, Annals 15.44
- Josephus, Antiquities 18.63-64, 20.200
- Pliny, Epistles 10.96
- Lucian, The Death of Peregrine 11-13
- Sanhedrin 43a, 281
You can see that Jesus cannot be a fabricated person when we have writings from many sources, both Christians and non-Christians, that prove He walked the earth.
Another great resource for this would be Cold Case Christianity. It is run by a detective who was an atheist but would eventually come to Christ when he saw the shear evidence for Christianity.
